In just 10 months, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it has recovered not less than N100billion from looters of the national treasury in just the northwestern part of Nigeria alone.
Premium Times reports that the commission revealed this on Monday, October 17 during a press conference at its Kano office.

The zonal head of the EFCC Nnaghe Itam, who made this revelation, said the commission also beamed searchlight on fraudulent oil marketers and recovered about N54 billion from them after investigation into bridging and retail scheme of petrol.
Additionally, the commission said it recovered over $622,000 and other property including eight houses, nine plots of land, three trucks and a car between January and now.

The EFCC also secured 23 convictions out of 214 cases it had and also has 24 cases still undergoing investigations at the Kano zonal office.

Meanwhile, Precious Chikwendu, wife of former aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode has debunked claims made by the EFCC about her having over N2million in her account.

Precious said contrary to EFCC statement, she only operates five accounts – two naira accounts in Guarantee Trust Bank, one dollar account and another ponds sterling account all opened in 2012.
