Policeman strips naked inside a bank in Lagos

There was confusion in the premises of a new generation bank in the Surulere area of Lagos on Monday, October 24 after a policeman stripped himself naked.
Lagos state police commissioner, Fatai Owoseni waded into the situation
According to The Nation, the policeman followed a woman to the bank to collect N30,000 from her. He had reportedly told the woman that she would pay N50,000 if the matter got to the station.
But unknown to him the woman called a rights activist and narrated her ordeal to him.
The activist was said to have contacted Lagos state police commissioner Fatai Owoseni, who immediately sent some policemen to apprehend their colleague.
On sighting his colleagues, the policeman was said to have ran under a car parked on the premises and was dragged out.
He source who witnessed the incident said: “He became violent when he was dragged out from underneath the vehicle. He started tearing his uniform and went naked in public.
He stripped to his pant to avoid being arrested but some area boys came to assist the policemen who came from the CP’s office to effect the arrest and they dragged him into the police van.”
The policeman was taken to the X-Squad unit at the police command where he is expected to face a room trial.
Meanwhile, the Lagos state police command has apprehended one Hyacinth Nwogu for duping a woman and producing fake currencies.
Nwogu, 60, who lives at 7, Abimbola street, College road, Ifako Ijaiye in Lagos was apprehended after the victim, Helen Olajide, 28, filed a complaint against him at the station.
The suspect was alleged to have collected the cash in installments from the victim, a businesswoman, under the guise of supplying her goods.
